Player Release Requests
The Regina Ringette Association does not encourage
the registration of players in any division other
than their designated division. However, the RRA
realizes that occasionally this may be desirable.
For this to be considered the following procedure
must be followed and the outlined criteria
must be met.
Procedure
This applies to players from all zones wishing to
play on any RRA registered team (C, B, A, AA)
Criteria
for Player Requests to move up/stay down a Division
-
Players may only be one year removed from the
requested playing division.
ie: an 11-year old could request to play in the
U14 Division, however a 10-year old could not,
etc.
-
A U12 player will not be allowed to play
at the AA or A playing level.
This follows the principals of LTAD that
U12-aged players should not be playing at that
level of competition (regardless of their skill
level).
-
All requests will only be considered if it does
not impede the ability of the effected playing
age divisions to field a quality playing loop
and does not adversely affect the team sizes for
all involved.
-
Should the previous criteria be met, the RRA
board will then insure that at least one RRA
approved independent evaluator & one designated
RRA board member (ie: Commissioner, Director of
Player Development, etc) are present to evaluate
the player’s ability to play at the requested
level.
-
Players will be evaluated in their designated
playing division first and must meet the
following criteria:
-
If the designated playing division criteria is
met, the player will be evaluated in the
requested playing division second and must
meet the following minimum criteria:
-
The Commissioner(s) will work with the
evaluator(s) and coaches (if A/AA) to determine
if the players request is approved based on:
-
The Commissioner of the approved division will
inform the player/parents of the final decision
